How can you determine the number of reference frames in h.264 video using libavcodec -


i'd determine number of reference frames used in encoding h.264 file using libavcodec. i've been able determine of other information i'm looking programmatically far can't locate 1 item.

any appreciated.

4-5 reference frames recommend general encoding. higher values add encoding time , decoding complexity, little no gain in quality.
