Should tags in Google Tag Manager (GTM) Appear in Network Waterfall? -


recently moved 10 tags out of our home page source code , moved them google tag manager (gtm) try , speed our website. have sworn tags not showing in network tab of either firebug or google developer tools in chrome after implemented gtm. "good" in sense sped our home page load time dramatically.

however, noticed page slower , we're getting dinged again yslow , google page speed many http requests , dns lookups. sure enough, tags showing in network waterfall. gtm tags firing , there appears no errors. has been case?

with gtm tags injected page via javascript, still show in networks tab , still create http requests. gtm might improve loading speed of site marginally (since tags loaded asynchronously loading tags not block page) (for part negligible) side effect , not purpose of tag management.
