google compute engine - kernel issue while running custom image -

i followed proper documentation regarding specifying kernel in command line while bundling gce image.

i specified following:

--preferred_kernel=projects/google/global/kernels/gce-v20130515

the image bundle process works out ok , no errors. when run add instance command, following error:

$ gcutil addinstance --image=hareem --kernel=gce-v20130515 mynewinstance --project=my-project invalid_field_value: invalid value field 'resource.kernels': 'projects/hlabsgce/global/kernels/gce-v20130515'. resource not found.

you may need use full name kernel here, looks gcutil looking google kernel in private project:

'projects/hlabsgce/global/kernels/gce-v20130515'

instead of

'projects/google/global/kernels/gce-v20130515'

try:

gcutil addinstance --image=hareem --kernel=projects/google/global/kernels/gce-v20130515 mynewinstance --project=my-project

gcutil should use prefered kernel default though, might not need supply parameter.
