c - why do we need to burn a root file system in embedded system development -
you know when embedded system development,we'll burn root file system first(like cramfs etc.) , burn linux kernel.since there's file system in linux kernel, why should burn root file system first?
linux kernel contains scheduler code, memory management driver, file system management driver, generic device drivers, ipc driver, network driver, architecture specific device drivers, firmware code , kernel headers etc. file system not part of linux kernel. file system managing drivers part of linux kernel. need have root file system either ramfs or cramfs or nfs etc.., once after linux kernel gets linked/attached file system accordingly. better use nfs file system during development stage, need setup files before using nfs.
