image - Mosaicking PDF documents? -


i have (or, rather, have) number of maps created in arcgis 10.0 , exported pdf documents. maps show contiguous areas, being rather pages in map book. there smaller-scale map depicting entire area (let's call "study area"), less detail, rather page of map atlas shows page depicts area.

i wonder if there way create thumbnails of larger-scale maps , mosaic them such create index map of study area. user able see, particular point on smaller-scale map, of larger-scale maps depicts part of study area. (and perhaps see map clicking on larger map?) have ideas can implement this? prefer exporting maps in pdf format, but, if can't of above pdf, other format map can exported arcgis, such jpg or tif, work.

what need render each page small image.

then collect each of these images , add them mosaic index page.

then put links each small image original pdf page.

if hierarchy more 1 level deep repeat process.

you need pdf component this. want in terms of features decent pdf rendering. it's easy thing badly , difficult thing well.

Automatically create pages in phpfox -
